Virtualization is a technology that allows you to run several different “virtual servers” on one actual hardware server.
Let’s say that you have an email server, a file server, a print server and a domain controller all running on seperate servers. Using something called VMWare we can take all of those servers and consolidate them into one machine. So instead of having 4 servers you now have one. This makes backups and disaster recovery a lot easier, saves you money on power, and of course saves you a lot of money on hardware.
